Scene #9: 'He Shoots...'


NOTE (01/12/10):

Scene #9: "He Shoots..." is my first short film, which has been the inspiration for my first feature screnplay. As we're now in the early stages of pre-production for the feature, it's no longer available to view online.
The Inspiration:

Whilst watching one of my favourite Brit-flicks I noticed how a particular scene almost held it's own as a stand-alone short film. Another aspect that appealed to me about the scene was that it's course was turned-about by one character's entertaining "monologue".

I am aware of several mesmerising monologues in film and wanted to create one which wasn't simply exposition or for the sake of it, but served a purpose. I believe I have achieved this and am also happy to have created three characters, each with their own agenda.

The film is written under the concept that it's a pivotal scene taken from a full-length feature about the Darren character and his cringeworthy compulsions.
